Describe the predominance of new ventures in the economy? If you could create a venture for the new economy what would you create?

The predominance of new ventures in the economy is extremely important at this point and time. With the harsh economic times that we now face, it is imperative for entrepreneur's to step up and enhance or stimulate the economy with their new endeavors. As stated in the article Building Entrepreneurial Economic by Schramm, " More than 500,000 "employer firms" (businesses with employees) are started in the United States every year. The latest Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (gem) survey, funded by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, found that in 2003, approximately 11 of every 100 working adults in the United States were engaged in entrepreneurial activity, either starting a business or playing a lead role in one less than three and a half years old." From these numbers, it's not difficult to see the importance of the development of new ventures in the economy.

If given the opportunity to create a new venture, I would develop an Entermainment establishment. For future explination, what I mean is that this location would cater to the group of people who are seeking enjoyment, uplifting, and fun during these gloomy times. This establishment would serve/showcase local food, art, and music. Outside of making a profit for the company, this could aslo boost sales locally for the Greensboro area....not to mention exposure for local services.
